Deerfield Fair 2011

Lots of photos...no particular order...post is somewhere in the middle.......

WOW...what a great showing of hooked rugs at the Fair. Many of the rugs displayed were from our members...the rest of them from "potential members". Many thanks to Grace C for collecting our rugs and transporting them to the rug committee.
Several of our members demonstrated rug hooking to the fair goers. It's rewarding to educate and excite young (and mature) people in the traditional arts. There seems to be a growing interest in Girl Scout Troops  working towards their badges. Many people tell us they remember their grandmothers hooking...hopefully we look lots younger!
Some people return to the rug barn every year to see what new projects we are hooking and are excited to see what ribbons we have won.

Our guild hopes to hold our regular Saturday meeting at the fair next year. What fun it will be to have 30+ hookers in the barn-we might need our very own fried dough stand!

Happy Hooking!

WMWM updates

Well it's been a while since our last update. It was such a beautiful summer, and our fall weather (between raindrops) is helping us get ready for lots of rug hooking! Big thanks to Theresa H for kick starting me to post to the blog!

We had a great turn out for the League of NH Craftsmen's Fair this August. Many of our members demonstrated rug hooking for the attendees. We shared a tent in the guild area for a few days with the weavers, braiders, and spinners.  The last weekend of the fair was spent right on the middle of the action!
Mark your calendars for next year-August 4th, 2012 is opening day!

Happy Hooking,
Lynda
